This course aims to: Course Objectives: 1) Equip students with a sound understanding of the substantive and procedural aspects of family law in Kenya, as well as the key concepts that underpin family law in general; 2) Equip the students with knowledge of judicial precedents and case law from the High Court and Court of Appeal of Kenya on various litigated issues pertaining to Family Law and Succession. 3) Encourage students to think critically about the reforms envisaged in aligning family law and succession and related fields to Kenya’s 2010 Constitution. 4) Appreciate the role of ADR in the Family Justice system.
