Objective of the course: To strengthen the competences of teacher educators to design and adapt TE-programs to modern pedagogical trends, introducing innovative teaching methodologies, including digital pedagogy. The participants will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to design a competency-based study program, define learning outcomes and plan aligned teaching, learning and assessment.
Learning outcomes: On successful completion of this program, the participants will be able to:
design a competency-based study program for teacher education;
define learning outcomes in programme, module and course level;
evaluate the horizontal, vertical and constructive alignment of the study programme and plan the improvement cycle for the program;
initiate and lead collaboration in study program team to enhance the teaching and learning in the unit/university.
Target group: teacher educators in 11 Kenyan universities under the leadership of the Education Dean Forum spearheaded by Embu University. Every TE-institution is represented by 2 teacher educators (for example dean at the faculty of education, and academic staff members
